I have loved the previous two books in this series, and this one fits just right in the Maple Ridge series. Two damaged people who choose each other, not to change or fix each other, but to lean against each other, to encourage, to help. A little boy who is wiser than the rest and a puppy who becomes his partner in crime, a love they did not see coming, a baker and a firefighter fitting together.
This is a great story, beyond the couple, it is all about a small town, its people, its dynamics, the way they choose to include, to help, and the new town adoptees.
Side note, I love seeing the couples from the past two books, also show up.
